Praying For Paws - Volunteer/Wish List

Praying for Paws is a non-profit dog rescue group that is dedicated to helping homeless dogs in the Henry County, Georgia area. We focus on larger dogs but have a large variety of breeds, such as German Shepherds, Border Collies, Beagles, terriers, hounds, and many beautiful Labrador Retrievers. Our biggest needs are adoptions, foster homes, volunteers, and donations.

Featured Dogs

Bella is a beautiful Lab mix girl who is about three years old. She is energetic and happy, and she enjoys playing with other dogs. She loves toys, tennis balls and water. Bella would be a great family pet and needs a home where she can get daily exercise.

Rambo is a wonderful Lab mix who is about five years old. He is friendly and playful, and he likes other dogs. Rambo enjoys being outdoor so much that a fenced yard is required for him. He would be happiest in a home where he could spend time both inside and out. Rambo has been patiently waiting for a long time to get a family of his own.

Volunteer / Wish List

Praying For Paws is looking for active volunteers to:

Provide foster homes
Walk / exercise the adoptable dogs
Assist with applications as needed
Work at adoption events
Bathe or groom dogs
Assist with special-needs dogs
Attend volunteer planning meetings

We also strongly encourage you to volunteer at the Henry County Animal Shelter. They need volunteers to walk and socialize the dogs, bathe and groom them, post information on www.petfinder.com, call rescue groups and clean the cat cages.

Praying for Paws offers many ways to volunteer at our facility. Adults who are 18 and older should email us to set up an orientation and dog safety training program. Upon completion, we welcome our adult volunteers to assist with dog walking, training, transporting dogs to vet visits, etc. on weekdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and on weekends from 9:00 am to noon.

Wish List

Like most non-profit organizations, Praying for Paws, Inc. has a wish list of items we need to care for our many homeless pets:

Metal crates or plastic crates all sizes
Pet beds
Paper disposable towels
Clorox
Pet store gift cards
Metal feed bowls
Comforters, bedspreads, sheets
Monetary donations (can donate securely with PayPal!)
Dry Pedigree dog food
Large black plastic bags
Dog toys
Leashes and collars, all sizes
Towels

Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda dog bed.
